Fight the power : We re-opened in the dark

Fifteen minutes into our grand re-opening party the power went out.

We shared food, browsed books, and celebrated the library’s 40+ years of community resistance in the dark.

It was awesome.

We could hardly see, but we still managed to serve 150 plates of amazing food from Enat Ethiopian Cuisine under the emergency lights in the hallway.

Fight the power is a really good song – a great video – and lives on today.
