Podcast Publisher – First Voices Indigenous Radio – Work Study Position

The Alternatives Library has an opportunity to help make First Voices Indigenous Radio become available to millions of people as a podcast.

The weekly radio show has dozens of episodes that “brings to the airwaves the experiences, perspectives and struggles of Indigenous people who have been almost totally excluded from both mainstream and progressive, alternative media”. The online archive is available, but not as a subscription and difficult to use on mobile devices. This position involves working with Tiokasin Ghosthorse, Host and Producer to publish weekly podcast episodes while back publishing the archives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Copying information about each episode into a published podcast entry
  • Helping to promote the new archive online and build subscribers 
  • Publishing each new weekly episode online as a podcast

Required Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities

  • Proficient with formatting, learning new online tools (training provided)
  • ability download and upload audio files 
  • strong desire to uplift and spread voices of indigenous
