Cornell Lending Library

Jael setting up the Lending Library

Textbooks are expensive. And for many students, the cost of textbooks deters them from taking the courses they want. This is barrier to education that we're hoping to dissolve with a special collection we've created in collaboration with students. This is a collection of textbooks which are available to students on a semester-long loan.

Shaleshock Media Archive Project

Shaleshock Media Archive

In 2015 we began the process of archiving hundreds of videos from grassroots media activists in the Finger Lakes and Southern Tier of New York State. The archive was started by media activist Cris McConkey, and includes most of his work. His documentation spanned years of organizing around fracking issues and creates a timeline of the battle to prevent fracking in our area.

Our Part in the Finger Lakes Library System

FLLS Banner

The Durland Alternatives Library joined the Finger Lakes Library System under the leadership of librarian Lynn Andersen. By partnering with the library system we are able to circulate to 30+ libraries in the region.

Finger Lakes Library System is an amazing community project and we're honored that we can contribute in this way.
