Celebrate People’s History – The Poster Book of Resistance & Revolution
The culmination of 12 years of work, this is a massive collection of all of the Celebrate People’s History posters, the 65 that have been printed, and another 45 brand new designs that have yet to be printed yet except for in this book! I’ve also written a history of the project, and there is a great introduction by Rebecca Solnit. I’m really excited about this book, it is my first hardback, and is beautifully printed and designed, really showing off the power of the posters.
110 posters by over eighty artists pay tribute to revolution, racial justice, women’s rights, queer liberation, labor struggles, and creative activism and organizing. Celebrate People’s History! presents these essential moments—acts of resistance and great events in an often hidden history of human and civil rights struggles—as a visual tour through decades and across continents, from the perspective of some of the most interesting and socially engaged artists working today. Includes Morgan F.P. Andrews, Santiago Armengod, Janet Attard, Edd Baldry, Jesus Barraza, Brandon Bauer, Dan Berger, Erok Boerer, Frank Brannon, Dave Buchen, Christopher Cardinale, Jen Cartwright, Melanie Cervantes, Dustin Chang, Tom Civil, Peter Cole, Julio Cordova, Mark Cort, Bobby Cortez, Larry Cyr, Courtney Dailey, Jared Davidson, Eric Drooker, Alec Icky Dunn, Alexander Dwinell, Molly Fair, Adam Fanucci, Karen Fiorito, Friendly Fire Collective, Darrell Gane-McCalla, Nicholas Ganz, John Gerken, Shawn Gilheeney, Art Hazelwood, Robin Hewlett, Russell Howze, Sanya Hyland, John Isaacson, John Jennings, Sabrina Jones, San Kerson, Klutch, Mara Komoska, Nicolas Lampert, David Lester, Dave Loewenstein, Damon Locks, Kate Luscher, Josh MacPhee, Fernando Martí, Colin Matthes, Iain McIntyre, Sara Meister, Dylan A.T.
