Thank you so much to everyone who attended and supported the Many Worlds Are Possible event last week. There are so many amazing outcomes, so here’s a quick list full of links too for your reading pleasure.
- 150 people attended!
- We shared food, connected, enjoyed the music, and had a chance to share work of the library and Prisoner Express
- Some amazing groups tabled and shared their work in a community “toast” (see below)
- Myself, Heidi, Gary, and our entire student staff learned more about other organizations around Ithaca area as we planned the event (read the blog post here)
- Students involved with programs were able share their experience with prisoner correspondence program, read letters, and present their accomplishments
- 3 lucky participants won the raffle prizes for the evening!
- Thanks Modern Medicine Botanicals for the herbal goodies
- Thanks Eve’s Cidery for the amazing cider
- Thanks Just Seeds Artist Cooperative for their people’s history posters
- Shira Evergreen, the filmmaker who created Ithaca is Murals started gathering footage for a video project about the Alternatives Library and Prisoner Express
- We enjoyed the music, HUGE thanks to the Flywheels for performing (download their music here)
- We were able to raise enough funds to cover the event expenses, compensate the musicians fairly, and kick off our annual fundraiser
- The food was incredible right? We’ve really enjoyed working with one of our favorite caterers Enat Ethiopian Cuisine
