Food Justice Summit 2014

The Food Justice Fair and Latino Multicultural Festival will be Sat, Sept 27th from 12 – 4 pm and beyond, at BJM Elementary school-grounds between W. Buffalo & Court Streets in Ithaca.

GreenStar Community Projects (GSCP) presents the Fourth Annual Food Justice Fair on Saturday, September 27th from 12pm-4pm in downtown Ithaca. The purpose of this community event is to promote social justice and community well-being while raising awareness about food justice in the Ithaca/Tompkins County region.

The Food Justice Fair will be held at BJM Elementary school-grounds between W Buffalo & Court in Ithaca. GSCP is delighted to be hosting this year’s event in collaboration with No Mas Lagrimas /No More Tears Project . No Mas Lagrimas /No More Tears will be holding their annual Latino Festival concurrently with the Food Justice Fair. Together, the two events will offer family fun, food, music in two languages, and even pet chickens! Dynamic speakers will discuss how their work helps build a just, local food system.

The two free events (sponsored by GreenStar Community Projects and the Latino Civic Association) featuring:

  • free food;
  • family entertainment;
  • children’s games;
  • bilingual safety show;
  • music in 2 languages;
  • vibrant displays by community groups;
  • even pet chickens!​

Dynamic speakers will discuss how their work helps build a just, local food system.
